McAlester Watercooler

PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.

Rat News:

Apparently our Sen. Lerblance has gotten a delay on the HEARING for the
Butch Mellor case until after his legislative sessions -- meaning next
August. Reported as today's court activities.

Another example of Justice -- SE OKie style.
Comment submitted by Rat on 2010-02-02 19:13:39
Confirmed by another source. Apparently, in SE OK the law is a variable thing
-- open to different interpretation for some people. Yes, 'old news'.
Comment submitted by Sterling on 2010-02-02 20:39:23
And the City Manager refuses to fire him until after the hearing. Bad move on
Stasiak's part - but he learns fast who the players are. This sucks.

Same old stuff, different players, result bad news. Butch must have been a valuable
player.

He didn't become sentator because of my vote!
Comment submitted by schultz on 2010-02-03 14:15:18
I've decided to NEVER vote for any lawyer running for public office.
Comment submitted by okieboy on 2010-02-04 00:42:32
That's the key don't let lawyers be lawmakers.......
Comment submitted by jmm on 2010-02-04 00:45:15
How're you going to vote for a District Attorney, then?
Comment submitted by Bryan on 2010-02-04 05:54:38
Good question, just as legal ethics is an oxymoron, decent attorney is rare in
McAlester. Dim Bob is good example of what we don't want more of as DA. HE should
have NEVER sit in judgement of ANYONE.
Comment submitted by okieboy on 2010-02-04 06:54:48
District Attorney is not a lawmaker, I'm talking about the house and senate the ones
that pass bills that become the laws that the District Attorney should uphold.

Rat Update Report Seems Butch Mellor has been heard bragging that all charges will be dropped by DA Jim Bob Miller later this year before he leaves office as DA. The fix is in.

Comment submitted by Brother on 2010-03-08 17:37:50
Is anyone the least bit surprised about this? Remember the famous FBI picture of
Mellor, Gene Stipe, Francis Stipe, Brian Renegar, Eddie Harper all eating beans in
Butch's kitchen? Of course the fix is in. Both Jim bob and Lerblance take their
marching orders from the POD and his spawn. I hope at least his girlfriend got
some money out of this for keeping her mouth shut.
Comment submitted by Hal on 2010-03-08 19:59:20
No -- she didn't -- at least not that I have heard.

Knowing how Jim Bob behaves, if he follows his pattern he will blame the woman
and might even attempt to bring charges against her.
Comment submitted by Hal on 2010-03-08 20:04:12
Jim Bob just makes up and enforces laws to his liking -- much like our Attorney
General Drew Edmondson. Two of a kind. Edmondson is smarter of course -- but
that isn't hard to do.
Comment submitted by Pete on 2010-03-08 21:22:28
You might know our dim bob would come to the rescue of Butch. Good riddance to one
of the worse laywers and DA's to ever walk this green earth. The man child will
never grow up nor do anything that looks remotely like ethical behavior.

Another Rat Update on the continuing antics of Butch Mellor

It now seems that Butch has been telling several people that his former
girlfriend should shut up if she knows what is good for her -- and words to that
effect. Reports indicate this was intended to be passed to her as a threat and
intimidation.

Apparently some of these threatening statements were made during City working
hours and have been reported to the acting City Manager.
